Rush Triangle
Spring 2024 Rush Information
Thank you for your interest in rushing Triangle Fraternity! Rushing is the very first step in joining a fraternity. The rush process is broken down into three main components — rushing, bid acceptance, and pledging.
Rushing: We have designated rush periods at the beginning of the Autumn and Spring semesters. These periods are casual and involve attending social events to get to know the brothers of Triangle. The minimum requirement to rush Triangle is at least a 2.50 GPA and at least 12 college or university credit hours (excluding Proficiency (AP) or examination (EM) credits).
Bid Acceptance: If you are a good fit and share the values of our fraternity, we will offer you a bid. Accepting the bid will grant you the opportunity to join Triangle as a pledge.
Pledging: After accepting your bid, you will begin the pledging process. This process lasts an entire semester and includes a New Member Education program and Initiation, among other events.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost to join Triangle?
There are two sets of fees: one-time fees incurred during the pledging semester, and semester fees beginning the semester after the pledging semester. Individual payment plans are offered to all brothers each semester. Note that both the local chapter and national organization offers plenty of scholarships to help offset the cost of Triangle Fraternity.
ONE-TIME FEES
National Pledge Fee (one-time): $90.00
National Initiation Fee (one-time): $260.00
SEMESTER DUES
Living in-house: $490.00
Living out-of-house: $600.00
Active on a semester co-op: $178.50
Am I required to live in the fraternity house?
Not necessarily; however, it is highly recommended that each brother spend at least 1 year living in the off-campus fraternity house. Only if the house is unable to be voluntarily filled would there be a possibility for a live-in requirement. Please note that Ohio State students are generally required to live on campus for two years (with a few exceptions), per University Housing’s housing requirement.
Does Triangle haze?
No. We do not haze and actively prevent potential hazing situations. Hazing has no place in a fraternity and is illegal in the state of Ohio.Â
How long is the pledging process?
The pledging process lasts the entire semester, with initiation occurring about one to three weeks before finals week.
What are the minimum requirements to get a bid from Triangle?
The minimum requirement to rush Triangle is at least a 2.50 GPA and at least 12 college or university credit hours (excluding Proficiency (AP) or examination (EM) credits). You can run a Degree Audit on BuckeyeLink to see if you meet credit and GPA requirements. As a first semester college freshman, you may have the eligible credits from the university’s College Credit Plus program.
What is the time commitment for joining Triangle?
During the school year, we have weekly chapter meetings to discuss events happening in the near future. Other than these weekly meetings, you can make the most or least of joining Triangle by attending events as you wish. Most brothers find that Triangle membership actually helps them manage their time better.
How can I assure my parents and guardians that Triangle is right for me?
Both our active members and parents of active members have talked to parents of potential new members to ease any concerns. Many parents of current members had similar concerns as well; it’s hard not to be a bit wary of fraternities with the image the media paints. While we are a social fraternity, we really do care about our academics and future careers as STEM majors. Other than learning more about Triangle from our website, please reach out to us if you have any further questions or concerns.
What COVID-19 protocols will your chapter be following during rush?
We will follow all protocol provided to us by Sorority and Fraternity Life, as well as requirements on the Safe and Healthy Buckeyes website.
